AB ‘n’ J Smoothie

Gavin ordered this smoothie from a local juice and smoothie shop we like to visit inside the Bay City Market. He loved it and asked if I could start making it for him when we wanted to do a quick easy dinner. The original smoothie was made with peanuts and had no protein source or greens in it. I love this paleo friendly version because it can be used as a meal replacement, it has a good amount of protein, and it includes greens as well.

AB ‘n’ J  Smoothie

1.5 cups organic strawberries*

1/2 cup organic blueberries*

1 banana

2 tablespoons almond butter

1 cup spinach

2 tablespoons Vital Proteins Collagen or Great Lakes Collagen (just make sure its the green label)

5-6 ice cubes

1/2 to 1 cup water, depending on how thick you like your smoothie to be

1 teaspoon raw organic honey (optional – I usually leave this out when I make it for me, the fruit is enough sweetness, but if your just getting into incorporating greens into your smoothie or for kiddos it may be preferred)

1/3 avocado (optional- I usually cut the banana in half in this recipe when I do this)

* I prefer fresh fruit for this recipe, however if you have to use frozen be sure to up the amount of water that you use
