THE BEST Italian Beef and Crunchy Smashed Potatoes

So I have recently felt compelled to share this story with all of the internet to read when a friend of mine had a very similar encounter as myself about a month ago. It got me wondering…how many of us have gotten ourselves in a similar utterly delightful predicament?

I was treated to a much needed and overdue massage by my mom (she’s a gem isn’t she?) when I came home to visit last. Words cannot describe my excitement for this! I used to treat myself to massages regularly when I was doing hair and my insurance covered them. I immediately stopped when I switched insurances and received a nice fat $150 bill in the mail for a single massage, GAG. So needless to say, I was in desperate need.

I’d been looking forward to my appointment for what seemed like years (realistically I think I found out about three days prior), and now all that stood between me and 60 minutes on that dreamy

Why EVERYBODY Needs a Little Moringa in Their Life

Okay. You don’t just need a little, ya need A LOT, alright?

I (technically my mom 🙂 ) first came across Moringa when we started going to one of my favorite little local lunch spots, The Moringa Tree Cafe, a few years back. The owner, Jenny Weaver, who is a Naturopathic Doctor (along with many other titles that revolve around the holistic health industry), carries the nutritional powerhouse in her cafe. She not only carries it, but she actually named her entire business after the tree where Moringa Powder comes from. She educated my
mom on the benefits of Moringa and she sent her home with a bag full of the dried leaves in powder form. Long story short, we’ve been taking it ever since!

Have You Had Your Flu Shot Today?

Not a fan of getting your flu shot every cold and flu season? No? Me neither – but let’s leave that topic for another day :).

I came up with this little concoction a few years ago and it’s been a complete LIFESAVER. Every time I get that little tickle in the back of my throat, have been in contact with someone who is sick, or just know I have something coming up that I DO NOT want to be sick for, I whip up one of these

Traverse City Has My Heart

One of the perks of moving away from my little, beloved, corner of Southwest Michigan is that Im so much closer to one of my absolute favorite cities: Traverse City! What used to be a 4 hour drive has now turned into an hour an a half for me. This past week I was able to spend 4 entire days in TC on two separate trips. Two days with Gavin just for a fun, get-a-way weekend, and two days with my momma for a kombucha making class put on by my favorite (and local!) kombucha company, Cultured Ferments Co.

Are any of my other fellow Michiganders under the impression that they are on the near verge of being kicked out of Cherry Republic? I think they’re on to us and eating copious amounts of

Easy Peasy Paleo Spaghetti

Good news folks! I think after typing up the recipe for this, I FINALLY  (after years of failing miserably) learned how to spell spaghetti! Now if I could only get “restaurant” down we’d be all set!

This is one of my favorite fall/winter meals to make. In fact, it was one of the first meals I made when I started to change my eating habits in college. I’ve recently been getting several questions regarding easy to prepare meals, as well as cost effective meals. Well this is a great option,

Instant Pot Coconut Milk Yogurt with Strawberry Rhubarb Chia Compote

Being married is awesome. Well actually, it mostly feels the exact same as before, except for one thing. Unexpected surprise wedding gifts just keep on coming, even long after you’re married. Coming home on a random night to a doorstep filled with surprise packages for basically an entire year is just so much fun. You know, kind of like the saying “the gift that just keeps on
