Hey there! I’m Holly Bowen (ya know, “HOBO“), a self proclaimed “health foodie”, beauty guru, travel enthusiast, crossfit loving (almost normal), 25 year old living in The Mitten State. If you’ve found yourself stumbling across my blog here, I first want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for taking time to stop by and check my page out. I’d love for you to read a little bit more about me and my story below.


I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was 22 years old.  It’s very clear to see that medication for MS is not exactly ideal, there’s absolutely no known cure, and the medications out there to treat the disease are fairly ineffective and come with a lengthy list of side effects. From that point on, although I felt very healthy, I never once let myself fall into acceptance of my disease. Taking a prescription medication for the rest of my life  and hoping that it worked for me was not an option. While researching alternative options for MS treatment I found Dr. Terry Wahls and her book, The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo. Although I had dabbled in a Paleo diet prior to my diagnosis, I had never fully embraced the lifestyle. Once I heard her story, I fully emerged myself in the Paleo community and I wholeheartedly believe that, despite many setbacks, adapting a healthier, more active lifestyle has significantly impacted my quality of life, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, while living with Multiple Sclerosis.

I chose to develop this blog because embracing fitness and Paleo have been completely life changing for me to say the least. Since I’ve started I’ve never looked back. I love the way it makes me feel, for the first time in my life I started to feel GOOD. I’ll be honest, I’m nowhere near perfect when it comes to this lifestyle, but my goal for HoBoWellness is to strive to do better every single day while inspiring others to do the same. I’m not someone who wants to get into or fully explain the science and background my diet exactly, BUT I do know I’ve learned what works for me and how good it makes me feel while doing it. It’s something I’m so incredibly passionate about and it’s honestly made me want to preach it to the entire world.  I truly believe this lifestyle has the power to help anyone who wants to live and feel better. It absolutely does not have to be boring, blah and bland in any way shape or form, in fact, I think if you gave it a try at all you’d absolutely fall in love, just like I did!
